The Problem

ClickUp started growing and scaling internationally a year and a half ago, venturing into the Australian and Philippine markets after establishing their presence in the United Kingdom and the European Union.

Alonso Lopez, IT Specialist, joined the ClickUp team six months ago and was tasked to oversee this growth through the international logistics of procuring and delivering equipment for the company’s distributed workforce.

In this role, Alonso faced the challenge of optimizing global team onboardings and predictable equipment delivery times while leveraging access to a broad product and service offering to enhance the international team’s experience.

The company wanted to be able to choose from a wide selection of products to set up their employees. They required not only laptops and monitors but also keyboards, mice, and all other equipment that employees need to be effective.

Since ClickUp has a relatively small IT team, they rely on partners and vendors to procure and manage equipment for their employees. GroWrk helped them procure, provision, and manage equipment needs, easing the operational burden of quickly setting up more than 800 employees across multiple global locations.

The Solution

Partnering with GroWrk allowed ClickUp to set up employees smoothly and quickly. The San Diego-based company had immense growth a year and a half ago when they almost tripled their employee base.

Having GroWrk on their team has significantly simplified the onboarding process for international hires and allowed ClickUp to set up new employees seamlessly.

“How would I define GroWrk? They are definitely our partner when it comes to all of our logistics. We rely on them heavily for all our international employees, and we got a great relationship, as far as being able to be responsive, collaborative, and flexible with us.” 

The Results

Having GroWrk as a partner has allowed ClickUp to create expectations and standard operating procedures based on shipping times to ensure that employees will get the equipment they need when they start.

“Partnering with GroWrk, we've developed those SLAs and the standard operating procedures to ensure on day-one employees are all ready to go and integrate them with Apple Business Manager to put them on our MDM solution through Jamf.”

About a year and a half ago, ClickUp almost tripled its employee base. They already had a presence in the European Union and the United Kingdom but extended heavily into Australia and the Philippines.

From around 200 employees –25% of them remote– ClickUp grew to more than 800 employees, with 75% being remote. Remote work has been at the forefront of their growth and now 90% of new hires work under this arrangement.
